Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your services cost?

I offer my classes on a sliding scale because it’s important to me that all people have access to the support they need. Pay what you can. Please remember that if you are a person of means, paying to your full ability helps ensure that this service will continue to be available to all who need it.

For Private Yoga Therapy, my rate is $95 per hour. However, I realize that this is out of reach for many people. I offer discounts for those who commit to multiple sessions, and I’m open to offering discounts of up to $20 per session to those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to pay. You won’t be able to book this rate for yourself on my website, so please give me a call or email. Click here to make contact.

Reiki is $75 per hour.

I’m not flexible. And I’ve never done Yoga. Is this for me?

Yes! Most of my clients are completely new to Yoga. And most of them are pretty stiff. Anyone can do Yoga, it’s just a matter of finding a therapist who is experienced at helping people find what works for them. This is my specialty.

How do I reserve a spot for Spine Care Yoga classes?

At this time, I haven’t had to turn anyone away due to lack of space in the class. For this reason, I accept drop-in participants. However, the class is growing and making a reservation is the only way to guarantee there will be space for you. Click here to register.

How many Private Yoga Therapy Sessions will I need?

This varies widely from person to person, and is influenced by factors such as length of time you’ve been in pain, the existence of co-occurring health concerns, and many others. The longer I work with someone, the easier it is for me to gage how they will respond to various techniques. You always get to choose how often/how long you come for Yoga Therapy. I’ve been able to help some clients achieve results in as few as 4 sessions. Some of my clients come weekly for a while, continue practicing what they’ve learned at home, then come back when it’s time to progress to new skills. Others come weekly as part of their health maintenance routine. It’s totally up to you.

What’s the difference between a Yoga Therapist and a Yoga Instructor?

In order to be a certified yoga instructor, the minimum amount of training is 200 hours. That can be completed over a few weekends, or in about three weeks of residential program at a yoga ashram.

In order to be a certified Yoga Therapist, one must first be a Yoga Instructor. Then, an additional 800 hours of training must be completed. This takes between 2.5-4 years in most programs. The training includes extensive study of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, yoga techniques, assessment, yoga philosophy, western methods of addressing common health concerns, interfacing with western approaches, medications, research literacy, and more. Additionally, there’s a mentored clinical practicum where students practice assessment and delivery of Yoga Therapy interventions under the guidance of an experienced Yoga Therapist.

I’m interested in future workshops. Can you let me know when you’re offering a class for my specific condition?

I’d be happy to! Please fill out the form on the bottom of this page and you’ll receive an email next time I have a class in your area of interest.
